Cookie Policy

Celine Claire uses cookies and related technologies to operate the store, remember useful choices, understand website performance and support advertising. Some are needed for the website to work. Others are optional and follow the choices available in our consent tool.

You can accept or reject optional categories, change your selections later and continue using the store when optional technologies are declined.

02 · What these technologies are

Cookies, pixels, tags and local storage

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks a browser to store. Cookies can remember a cart, a preference, a login or an identifier used for measurement.

The website may also use browser storage, pixels, tags, software development tools and server-to-server events. These do not all place a traditional cookie, but they can perform similar functions or connect activity to a browser, device, session or customer record. We refer to them together as cookies and related technologies.

Some technologies are first-party (they operate from the Celine Claire domain). Others are provided by third parties such as payment, analytics, advertising or media providers.

03 · Necessary

Necessary for the store to work

Necessary technologies support a service you request or protect the website. Depending on the final configuration, they may:

  • keep products in the cart;
  • maintain a checkout or customer-account session;
  • route a visitor to the correct market, currency, shipping or tax experience;
  • remember a consent choice;
  • balance traffic and prevent abuse;
  • support payment security, authentication and fraud checks;
  • preserve a form or transaction while it is being completed.

"Necessary" is not the same as "exempt from review." Each item still needs a specific purpose, limited duration and an owner.

The website's market rules are: Canada uses CAD; United States uses USD; United Arab Emirates uses AED converted from the USD price; other supported countries use USD. The final shipping address controls checkout rules — a market or currency cookie may help browsing but cannot override the verified shipping destination.

04 · Preferences

Remembering useful choices

Preference technologies can remember selections that are not strictly required for a page to load — a market, language, display setting or previously selected option.

If a preference can be provided without setting an optional identifier, the less intrusive method is used. The final inventory states whether a preference is stored for the browser session or for a longer period.

05 · Analytics

Understanding website performance

If enabled after the applicable choice, Google Analytics and related measurement tools may collect information about page views, navigation, device or browser characteristics, approximate location, referring sources, interactions and ecommerce events. We use this to understand what visitors use, find broken paths and assess website or campaign performance.

Analytics information can include online identifiers that qualify as personal information. Analytics is not described as anonymous unless the final configuration and provider terms support that statement.

Under Google Consent Mode:

  • Basic — Google tags are blocked until the relevant choice is granted.
  • Advanced — Google tags may send measurements without cookies while storage is denied.

Celine Claire does not currently run Google Analytics, Google Ads or Google Tag Manager on this website, so no Google consent signal is sent. If a Google tag is introduced, this section will be updated before it is switched on.

06 · Advertising

Advertising & retargeting

If enabled after the applicable choice, Google Ads, Meta Pixel and related advertising tools may use page activity, product interactions, campaign information and online identifiers to:

  • measure whether advertising led to a visit or purchase;
  • limit or assess ads;
  • create or refine advertising audiences;
  • support retargeting on Google, Facebook, Instagram or related services;
  • improve campaign reporting.

This is why someone may see an advertisement after visiting a product or content page. Declining advertising technologies prevents optional browser-based advertising tags from being used for that visitor as configured by the final consent system.

The website may also use server-side conversion events, including Meta Conversions API or Google enhanced conversion features. Server-side does not mean exempt from consent or disclosure. Hashing a value such as an email address does not automatically make it anonymous. Server events follow the same recorded purpose and consent choice as the corresponding advertising category.

No server-side advertising or measurement features are in use. There is no Meta Conversions API integration, no enhanced conversions and no customer-matching feed.

07 · Cart, checkout & payment

Ecommerce technologies

WooCommerce may use session and cart technologies to remember products, update totals, preserve checkout progress and connect an order to a browser session. Exact names and lifetimes appear in the technology table below.

Payment providers may use necessary security and fraud-prevention technologies when their payment method is shown or used: this will be updated with the provider’s own technologies once online card payment is connected.

We do not use cookies to store payment-card numbers. Payment fields and tokenization are implemented through the approved gateway integration. The Privacy Policy explains how order and payment-related information is handled more broadly.

Both providers' customer-facing scripts are not loaded on every page — only when relevant to the applicable checkout, as late as practical without damaging checkout reliability.

08 · Forms, quiz & subscriptions

Contact forms, the Hair Quiz and email signup

Forms may use necessary storage or security checks to submit a request, reduce spam or preserve progress. If reCAPTCHA or another anti-spam tool is used, it appears in the final table and is not loaded site-wide when it is needed only on a form.

The Hair Quiz provides its core recommendation without requiring an email address. If a visitor asks to email or save a result, that request uses the information needed to fulfil it. Newsletter or promotional consent remains a separate, unchecked choice.

An email signup does not turn analytics or advertising consent on automatically. Cookie choices and email marketing consent are separate records.

09 · Third-party content

Reviews, UGC, maps & embedded media

Product reviews, UGC videos, maps and embedded media may involve third-party technology. We use privacy-conscious embeds, local poster images and click-to-load behaviour where practical. Optional third-party media does not load merely because it appears below the fold.

When a visitor chooses to play or open third-party content, that provider may receive information such as the IP address, browser details and the page being viewed. The provider and behaviour appear in the final inventory.

This website does not embed YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, TikTok, Google Maps or third-party review widgets. Videos shared by customers are hosted by us and only load once you press play.

10 · Who provides the technology

First-party & third-party technologies

First-party technologies are placed or read through the Celine Claire domain. Third-party technologies are controlled by another provider or connect to that provider's service.

Third parties can update their technology. Celine Claire reviews the inventory after material website, plugin, advertising or vendor changes and updates this page when needed.

11 · Retention

How long technologies remain

Some items expire when the browser session ends. Others remain for a stated number of days or months unless the visitor deletes them sooner. Consent records may be kept long enough to demonstrate the choice and avoid asking on every visit.

The technology table shows the verified duration for each item. Cookie duration and type are reported from the current browser behaviour and provider documentation.

12 · Managing your choices

Change or withdraw your choice

Use the button below to reopen the preference centre. You can accept or reject optional categories and save a new choice.

Withdrawing a choice stops future optional use governed by the website's consent system. It does not automatically delete information already processed by a provider. You can also clear stored website data through your browser settings — clearing cookies may empty the cart, sign you out or remove saved preferences.

Browser controls alone are not a replacement for the website preference centre. The choice remains easy to find from every page via the Cookie Choices control in the footer.

13 · Browser privacy signals

Global Privacy Control & Do Not Track

Browsers may send privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Standards and legal requirements differ by location.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie preferences control, and your browser’s own privacy settings continue to apply to this website as they do to any other.

Any legally recognized opt-out signal in an applicable market is honoured. The statement here does not reduce that obligation.

14 · Transfers

Processing outside Canada

Some technology providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States or another country where they or their service providers operate. Information in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws and lawful access requirements.

Read the Privacy Policy for more information about service providers, international processing and privacy requests.

15 · Changes

Updates to this policy

Celine Claire may update this Cookie Policy when the website, providers, consent controls or legal requirements change. The Last updated date identifies the latest material revision. If a change introduces a new purpose that requires consent, the website requests an appropriate new choice rather than relying on an older one.

16 · Inventory

Technologies used on this website

The table below identifies the technologies planned for the final website. Every verify value is replaced with evidence from the clean-browser audit before the policy is treated as fact.

The table below was built from a scan of this website in a clean browser, across the home page, shop, a product page, the bag and checkout. Every duration shown is the one the browser actually recorded.

18 · Cookie FAQ

Common cookie questions

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored by a browser. It can remember information such as a cart, session, preference or measurement identifier.

Can I use the store after rejecting optional technologies?

Yes. Rejecting optional analytics and advertising does not prevent normal product browsing, cart use or checkout. Some optional media or preference features may remain unavailable until you choose to load them.

How do I change my choice?

Select Manage My Cookie Choices on this page or Cookie Choices in the website footer, then save the categories you want to allow.

Why are necessary technologies always active?

They support requested store functions or security — maintaining a cart, completing checkout, protecting a transaction or remembering a consent choice. Each necessary item still requires a specific purpose and limited duration.

Why can an ad appear after I visit a product page?

When advertising technologies are allowed, providers may use website activity and online identifiers to support retargeting on their services. You can reject or withdraw the Advertising category through the preference centre.

Does server-side tracking avoid my cookie choice?

No. A server event used for analytics or advertising follows the same disclosed purpose and applicable consent choice as browser-based tracking. Hashing an identifier does not automatically make it anonymous.

Do payment providers use cookies?

A payment provider may use technologies needed for payment security, authentication and fraud prevention when the relevant checkout method is shown or used. The final table lists the items confirmed in the production checkout.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Clearing website data may remove the stored consent choice, empty the cart, sign you out or reset preferences. The consent banner may appear again on a later visit.

Are cookie choices the same as email marketing consent?

No. Choosing analytics or advertising does not subscribe you to email. Joining the email list requires a separate marketing choice, and an email subscription does not turn optional website categories on.
